This 1-Horsepower 14-inch Band Saw Has Some Serious Kick With its 1 HP dual 120/240 voltage motor and nearly 100-inch blade length, this Craftsman 14-inch band saw can tackle any serious cutting job. Built on a large, sturdy cast-iron base, this machine offers stability and flexibility with its 45-degree tilting table.

Heavy-duty jobs are no task at all for the 14-inch band saw, owing to its versatility. Most importantly, it has the extra details that make a band saw user-friendly, like two dust collection ports in two different sizes, a 7-foot power cord, upper and lower guards and straightforward owner assembly. As an added bonus, the saw has an 8-inch resaw capacity and ball bearing guides to help reduce friction and lengthen blade life. Backed by a Craftsman One Year Limited Warranty, you can feel confident about your purchase. Use the Craftsman 14-Inch Band Saw for your woodworking needs and then some. To cut different materials, the device offers 2 blade speeds: 1620 and 3340.
Two dust collection ports ‒ one at the back and one at the front ‒ are 2-1/2 in. Deep, respectively.

I was told at the help-chat desk that the description in the inside of the manual specifies that it covers 3 models, including 243310, so I printed it out - but I cannot find it says that at all. Maybe it is there somewhere, or maybe the manual is identical? Or maybe there is a glitch in your download software? What is the difference between these 2 models?
Thanks for help. Next question that they could not answer: What is the best bandsaw blade to use for general purpose metal cutting? What other different blades are offered for other metal cutting? Thanks, again. Owners manuals are one of the most important things to have when you have an appliance or tool.
ManageMyLfe.com is a great place to find your owner's manual and installation guides for appliances. I did some research and found the owner’s manual.
I have attached the link below. Your expert will follow up and verify this information shortly. If you are having a specific problem please submit your question on the existing tread. Just log back into the website. Go to your profile and find your question you asked and then click on join the conversation and provide that information.
This will speed up the process for you and save you some time. I can understand how important it is to have the right information for your band saw. The manual that is available on our website is for all three models. They are identical so the information would be the same. As for the blades, it is always best to use what the manufacture recommends, but if you need an different paid close attention to the distance in the teeth. If the teeth are really close together, then the blade is best used for wood and light weight metal.
If the teeth are further apart, it is best used for the more dense metals. I hope this helps. If you need further assistance, please reply to this thread. Thank you for using Manage My Life.
Thanks for the help. Is it correct, then, that the only difference on the band saw blades available at Sears for this Chraftsman saw, is the distance between the teeth, basically? Otherwise, they are all made with the same metal, same thickness, same strength? Or perhaps the ones with the more widely spaced teeth are thicker overall, and made of a stronger metal?
Do you know how many different blades are available for this bandsaw - or the place I can look, for just this bandsaw alone? I thank you also because I would have wrongly guessed that teeth close together were for metal, and teeth far apart were for rougher work, and only for wood. I apologize for the confustion Ed, you are correct about the space beteen the teeth. When selecting a blade, the thickness of the metal you’re cutting is the main consideration. Generally, you’ll get a good cut with a blade that keeps at least two teeth in the material at a time—an 18-tooth blade would be a better choice than a 14-tooth one for steel 1/8 thick, for example. The blade are made from the have high carbon metal with the same thickness, but the width will be different depending on the number of teeth on the blade. Normally a 14 tooth bade will be 1/8 inch wide, while a 3 tooth blade is 1/2 inch wide.
I was able to find a set of blade that you can purchase for this model. Just click on the link below to view them. Why do they make getting the right answer so hard to look up! The previous 'Sears Chat' person sent me to you, but they first said I needed an 80 inch sawblade and only showed 1 style available, or seemed to think so. The attached link seems to be for a Model 22400 and is 89 1/2 inches, but the description otherwise seems great.
Product Description - Commercial Grade HARD EDGE/FLEX BACK Band Saw Blades for 12-in. Craftsman Band Saw 22400. Contents: 1/8-in. Wide x 14T, 1/4-in. Wide x 6T, 1/2-in. Wide x 3T HARD EDGE/FLEX BACK blades with induction hardened teeth Rc62 are commercial grade band saw blades.
These high carbon blades are made for continuous and frequent use in industrial trades such as furniture, automotive, mechanical, machine shop, as well as do-it-yourself. These are excellent, economical, long lasting blades for all types of woodworking for Scroll, General Purpose and Re-saw cutting.Heavy Duty, Durable, Commercial Grade.Cuts Hard/Soft Wood, Plastic & Mild Steel.Super Hardness Rc 62-63 Vs. Rc 45 For Standard Bands.Flexible Back For High Speed Sawing (To 6000 SFM) I have finally found reference to '80 inches' for the blade and sanding belt all the way into manual on page 25! However, nowhere do I find it applies to my Model 243310, only 243300 AND 243311. Couldn't the manual detail this accurately?
I'm not doing so well today? Thanks for more help here. Ed, I apologize for the wait, and thank you for your patience. I did some additional research on this model and found that the orginal replacment blade for all of these model is part number 60272, which is 1/4' X 80'. The link that I provided above was the best set that I was able to find. However, there are several available, as well as the individual blades, that you can order.
This link will provide all that Sears carries. Your model number blades are no longer available, so you will need to go with the closet one. I would suggest you chat with a specialists at Sears.com, so they can get you what you need.

Please let me know if you need anything else. Thank you for using Manage My Life.
I am sorry, but now I am totally and completely confused. When I called Sears they said I should contact their chat expert, but after a few really simple questions that they could not answer, they said I needed to go to the real experts, which I could only contact via this e-mail 'manage my life' method. Now, six days later, I gather the answer seems to be that my 'like-new' condition Craftsman band saw requiring 80 inch blades has one small problem - 80 inch blades are no longer available? So unless I can somehow move the shafts of the large wheels the saw blade rides on to be about 4 5/8 inches further apart to accept 89 1/2 inch blades, the saw is so much junk if my current saw blade breaks? (Only the top wheel is adjustable, and can move about 1 inch total - most of which is necessary for different width blades.
Iskysoft registration code torrent. Over 1 inch appears impossible.) But to understand better, I should be going to another 'higher level' Sears expert at another Sears help link? Please tell me I am wrong, and misunderstood. More positively, these exchanges have been very helpful getting me to examine my bandsaw and the manual more carefully, and also to understand the saw blade operation better with your help. So thank you for that. (and I just need to find different high quality 80 inch blades).
